Sunday School

Resources, including audio and outlines, from the Biblical Metanarrative class taught by Dr. Gordon Brubacher, May 1, 8, 15, & 22, 2011 at First Mennonite Church. 

Understanding the Bible's "big story" will be the theme of a four-session course on the biblical metanarrative offered by First Mennonite Church. The class, which begins on Sunday, May 1, will be taught by Creighton University Assistant Professor of Scripture, Dr. Gordon Brubacher.

Three adult Sunday School classes will be offered during the winter quarter, beginning Sunday, November 28.  Everyone is invited.

The Adult Bible Study Class will focus on Isaiah and Mark in a study titled “Assuring Hope.”

Three adult Sunday School options will be offered during the Fall 2010 quarter.

The Adult Bible Study will study portions of Exodus and Psalms while the Elective Class reads Mary Pipher's book, The Middle of Everywhere.  This quarter a Women's Class will be offered.  The focus will be on women of the Bible.

Mennonite Church USA is scheduled to hold its biennial convention in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2013.  In light of the passage of the Arizona immigration law, SB1070, the church is reconsidering its plans to meet in the state.

Want to build on the movie "FireProof"? Then join the adult Sunday School class reviewing questions and scriptures that will help build principles for strong, God-centered, lifelong marriages. Class begins Sunday, November the 8th. Let's learn together as we discuss "Fireproof Your Marriage."  The group meets in Room 8.

Three adult classes will be offered this fall.  These include:

• Adult Bible Study - Covenant Communities (Old Testament, the Gospel of Mark, and I & II Peter)
  
• Elective - Our Story: what Mennonite History tells us about ourselves
  
• Prayer Group
