You have offered your children to the strong and tender providence of God.  We rejoice with you and give thanks for the gift of your children.  We promise, with humility and seriousness, to share in their nurture and well-being.  We will support, by our example and words, your efforts to provide loving and caring homes, where trust in God grows and Christ's way is chosen.  Our prayers will be with you and for you.  May our shared life and witness help make your task both joyful and fruitful.

Announcements

PARENT-CHILD DEDICATION - This morning we celebrate parent-child dedication with three families:

  • Kirsten Joy, born on May 19, and her parents, Holly and Tracy
  • Kollyns Sarah, born on June 16, and her parents, Robbyn and Kent
  • Sadie Ellen, born on June 21, and her parents, Becky and Jay

YOUTH ESCAPE 2010 - Youth and Jr. Youth from our church will be attending Youth Escape in Manson, Iowa next weekend.  We will pray for their trip at the end of worship this morning.  Keep them and the adults who will accompany them in your prayers while they are away.

WELCOME - We welcome Leigh Esau, director of the Foster Care Closet, who will present an update on the program's ministry.  Foster care is going through a very challenging time in our state.  Foster parents are under increasing pressure.  So the service and support provided by the Foster Care Closet is more important than ever.  Donations of school supplies should be placed under the Economic Justice Table by August 8.  Feel free to leave clothing as well.

SUMMER AFTERNOONS - High School youth will next meet at 2:00 p.m. this Wednesday, July 28 for mini-golf at Adventure Golf (S. 56th St. just south of Old Cheney Rd.).  Bring money if you want a snack.  Greens fees are on Pastor David.  Call Mary Cooney if you need a ride!

MONEY GIVEAWAY!! - The quarterly mission offering taken in June for "Samaritan Grants" totaled over $1500.  Therefore, we have 15 $100 grants to give to anyone (friend, neighbor, co-worker, stranger) you know or meet who has an immediate need.

There is only one stipulation.  We want to hear how these are used; during Sharing Time, through a bulletin announcement, etc.  You can give the money and be reimbursed or make arrangements for payment through the church treasurer. - Nurture Commission

ATTENTION FMC WOMEN - Mennonite Women USA are planning a resource gathering and networking retreat Aug. 27-28, at Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson.  This is the first time it has been held in Nebraska, and Central Plains Conference is hosting this event.  The event is known as PREP - Preparing, Resourcing, Encouraging and Praising, and has been held somewhere in the U.S. each year since 1999.  Because this is being held in Nebraska, we are invited to send one or two representatives from our church.  If you are interested in attending, see the information posted on the bulletin board, or contact Wanda Stauffer.

BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS BY THURSDAY - Please have all bulletin information to Mary Cooney by Thursday at noon.  She will be printing the bulletin a little early this week.

SRI'S ADDRESS - Is available from the church office.

ATTENTION SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS - Looking for affordable health insurance that reflects your values?  Talk to your MMA counselor about MMA's recently updated ShareNet insurance options for your employees.
