Call To Worship

(Psalm 22:25-28)

Leader

From God comes the theme of our praise in the great assembly;

People

before those who fear you will we fulfill our vows.

Leader

The poor will eat and be satisfied;

People

they who seek the LORD will praise him--may your hearts live forever!

Leader

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD,

People

and all the families of the nations will bow down before him,

Announcements

THE ROSE on the altar is in celebration of the birth of Sadie Ellen Waegli who was born on Monday, June 21.  She weighed 9 lbs. 5 oz. and measured 21½ inches.  We rejoice with parents Becky and Jay, brothers Sam and Joe, and grandparents Barb and Dallas.

BANNER PROCESSION - Our worship service today will conclude with carrying the "God's Love Has No Borders" banner from the sanctuary to the church lawn where it will be displayed.

MCC UPDATE - We welcome Sara Brubacher who will report on the work of Mennonite Central Committee.

IMMIGRATION - Included in the worship bulletin this morning is the Mennonite Church USA Churchwide Statement on Immigration.  As part of this year's focus the Economic Justice Team plans to explore the topic of immigration during the coming months.

TUESDAY AFTERNOONS - Our first summer afternoon High School Youth gathering was a lot of fun.  This week we will mix it up and meet (weather permitting) in the Lincoln Foundation Garden.  The Garden is immediately west of the Lincoln Community Foundation Building.  It is located on N Street just west of Centennial Mall (behind the Original Korn Popper).  All high school youth (entering this fall, in high school, or recently graduated) are invited to spend an hour with Pastor David this Tuesday, June 29, at 1:30 p.m.  Since Dave won't be able to resist the Colby Ridge popcorn, he says he's buying popcorn, ice cream, or other snacks.  Call David Orr if you need a ride.  Rain location is NuVibe Juice and Java, 126 N. 14th St.

WIEBE'S JULY FOURTH BASH - All are invited to the annual July 4th get-together at David and Kendra Wiebe's house (2940 Cedar Ave.).  Come at 6:00 for a grill-out, conversation, some fireworks for the kids, and a good view of the Country Club fireworks show at about 10:00.  Please bring something to grill, something to share, and something to sit on (if possible).  Hope to see you there.

YOU ARE INVITED - To celebrate the upcoming wedding of Tisha Roth and Steve Arens, we will have a grocery shower on Sunday, July 11, following the potluck lunch.  Please join us for this special event.
