HEY JUNIOR YOUTH! - Today's the picnic at 5:00 p.m. at Holmes Lake Park.  Don't forget to bring your parents and come for games, food, and fun!  If you can't remember what food to bring, ask Sheri or Lynnae.

 

POTLUCK AND FAREWELL - Next Sunday, May 23, we will have a potluck lunch and a farewell for Marlin and Betta Kym.  Please bring a main dish and a salad or dessert to share.

 

BIBLE SCHOOL IS COMING - Vacation Bible School will be on June 10th and 11th from 9:30 to 3:30.  We are looking for volunteers to teach, be in dramas, and lead stations.  Let Heidi Hochstetler know if you can help, and mark you calendars now.

 

THANK YOU - Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers and calls before and after the death of Mary Burkey.  The plant was beautiful and we thank you for your acts of love and support.

ROOFING HELP NEEDED - Plans are being made to roof Tom Hoffman's house on Friday, May 21 late afternoon and evening and Saturday, May 22.  We will tear off and paper on Friday and shingle on Saturday.  The address is 3755 N Street.  Please let Wade Thiessen know ASAP if you can help!  Tom will be making a donation to our church. 

 

EMPOWERMENT TO OVERCOME POVERTY - On Thursday, May 20th, at 7:00 p.m., Northeast United Church of Christ, 6200 Adams St., will host a Community Conversation: Empowerment To Overcome Poverty. Valuable information about services available in the community will be provided.  Speakers are: Deb Shoemaker, Executive Director of the People's Health Center.; Vi See , Executive Director of the Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties; and Tom Cardwell, Dean of Student Support services at Southeast Community College. They will offer a variety of resources to help people explore ways to improve the quality of their lives. 

 

SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL SIGN-UP IS HERE!!  We are so grateful to our Sunday school teachers who have been dedicated each week to inspire our children to love God and follow Him.  We like to give them a break for the summer, so we need your help.  Please consider taking a Sunday or two this summer, and connect with our children and youth by teaching a class.  Materials are provided; sign-up is on the table in the fellowship hall.

BIRTHDAY OFFERING TODAY - We will celebrate all the May birthdays and anniversaries today.  If you are celebrating this month, you are invited to contribute to our offering during the worship service.  All the money is used to support three students in India with their education.

 

LETTERS DELIVERED - On Thursday, May 6, Rhonda Brubacher, Kevin Haake, and David Orr delivered our letters supporting the TRADE Act to the offices of Senators Nelson and Johanns and Congressman Fortenberry.  Thanks to everyone for participating.  Remember to stay in touch with your elected officials. 

 

STEWARDSHIP HAS ITS REWARDS - MMA seeks nominations of individuals or groups for its 2010 Journey Award.
