HESSTON CHORALE - We are thankful to have the Hesston
College Chorale with us this morning as they conclude their 2010 Spring
Tour. During their concert they will
receive a special offering to help with the expenses of their tour.

ECONOMIC JUSTICE - Our congregation has selected a topic
for special focus in 2010. The
Economic Justice Focus Team plans to create a display showing both economic
justice and injustice. Your help is
needed! Please bring your submissions
to David Orr. Materials related to
economic justice and injustice might include: news articles, original
photographs or images found on the web, poetry, artwork, posters, artifacts
(think Equal Exchange coffee packages, Habitat for Humanity tee shirts, or
items made in sweatshops). Be

CONFERENCE MINISTER POSITION - Central Plains Mennonite
Conference is seeking a gifted leader for the position of Executive
Conference Minister. This is a full-time position for an individual who will
be able to give overall leadership to the conference through tending and
articulating the vision of Central Plains. It also involves leading and
working with a ministry team that has two members in place.A complete

MEMBERSHIP - Jef Winterlin will be received as a member of
First Mennonite Church on Sunday, March 21.
Jef is finishing his studies at the University of Nebraska/Lincoln and
is currently doing his student teaching at North Star High School. He has been attending First Mennonite
Church for the past two years.
DAVID ORR - Pastor David is visiting his family in
Ohio. He will be back on March
15. Contact our congregational
chairperson, Brenda McLey, with any pastoral care concerns.
THIRD WAY - The UNL campus fellowship will not meet on
March 16 due to spring break. The
next meeting will be at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23 in the Nebraska Union.
ORDINATION
- The Milford Mennonite Church in Milford, Nebraska will celebrate the
ordination of their pastor, Tim Springer this Sunday, March 14 during the 10
a.m. service. Join this congregation in celebrating the confirmation of
Tim's call to ministry.
BIRTHDAY OFFERING NEXT SUNDAY - We have the opportunity to
support three students in India in their education. If you have a birthday or anniversary in March you are invited
to contribute to the birthday offering next Sunday to support these three
young people.
MCC OFFERING MARCH 28 - Our first quarterly mission offering will be used
to help Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) continue to respond boldly to
expanding need in a time of tight resources.
On Sunday, March 28, the day after the Nebraska MCC Relief Sale, Barb
Schrag, Associate Director of the Resource Generation Department of MCC in
Akron, Pennsylvania, will visit First Mennonite Church. She will report on the Global Family
Program during our combined Sunday School classes and will give a brief
update on earthquake response in Haiti during the worship service.
Our mission offering will support MCC's ongoing relief and
development work in Haiti and around the world. It will be received on March 28 and will be in addition to our
regular tithes and offerings. Please
prayerfully consider how you can participate. MCC is our trusted partner with a long tradition of making the
most efficient use of resources it receives.
If you can't eat more than one verenika dinner or make the winning bid
on a quilt, our mission offering is a wonderful opportunity to partner with
the dedicated women and men of MCC who serve "in the name of
Christ."
