Sharing and Prayer

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors;

and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

Amen.

Announcements

BRIDAL SHOWER TODAY - All women and girls are invited to a money tree bridal shower for Anne Yoder (and Tim Wiens) tonight at 7:00 p.m. at First Mennonite Church.  Please come for food, fun, and fellowship.

FOCUS ON PALESTINE - Next Sunday, April 26, our focus will be on the plight of occupied Palestine.  Gordon Brubacher will bring the message during the worship service.

At noon a potluck will be held.  If you would like to bring a Palestinian dish, check the website soon for recipes.  Regular potluck fare is welcome, if you prefer.  Donations will be received to support the work of Christian Peacemaker Team member Jessica Frederick who serves in the Palestinian village of At-Tuani.  Those who would like to make an additional donation to have a dish prepared on their behalf may contact Anita Breckbill.

At 1:00 Jessica Frederick and Palestinians Issa and Fayruz Ismail will give a brief update.

WOMEN'S SPRING TEA  - Join us this Saturday at 10:00 a.m.  Sign up today and come for some fun and fellowship.  Bring a friend or family member and a favorite or special apron, if you like.  You can also sign up to help bring food for the brunch.  See you Saturday!

KEEP THE DATES OPEN! - Vacation Bible School for First Mennonite Church will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, July 15 and 16.  More information coming later.  Mark those calendars now so you can plan to attend or help!

NEW BOX OF BOOKS - We've received a new selection of books from the District Conference Library focusing on (light) fiction and servant leadership.  Also included are a few children's titles.

Peruse them & use them!  Books are due back on or before June 7.  Please leave your name & title borrowed on a 3 x 5 card in the basket at the book display.

DAVID ORR - David will be heading to the St. Benedict Center in Schuyler, Nebraska, immediately following worship this morning.  He will be attending meetings of the Pastoral Leadership Committee, the Central Plains Pastors Retreat, and the Lincoln Leaders Prayer Summit and will return on Wednesday afternoon.  Messages may be left at the Center: 402-352-8819.

BIRTHDAY OFFERING - Our monthly birthday and anniversary offering will be taken during today's worship service.  If you are celebrating in April, you are invited to contribute to this offering, which is used to support our three Indian students in their education.

BACK TO BASICS - Get inspiration for living simply from a collection of essays on money, time, the environment, and the community.  The book, Simpler Living, Compassionate Life, offers alternatives to the culture of "more."  Go to MMA-online.org, Bookstore, to learn more.

STILL MISSING - I'm still in search of the Henri Nouwen book, "Turn My Mourning into Dancing." If you have it, please return it to Ruth Chantry's mailbox ASAP. Thanks much.
