Ten Thousand Villages Benefit Day

Sunday, November 13, is First Mennonite Church's "Benefit Day" at Ten Thousand Villages in Lincoln's Haymarket and we want to help Foster Care Closet. 

The store is sharing 10% of total sales that day and First Mennonite has designated the proceeds for the Foster Care Closet. 

This is a great opportunity to purchase fairly traded stuff from around the world while helping foster children and their families right here in Nebraska. 

Ten Thousand Villages, located at 8th and P Streets sells fairly traded artisan-crafted home decor, personal accessories, and gift items from across the globe.  Store hours Sunday are 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  For more information, visit their website or find them on Facebook. 

The Foster Care Closet helps meet the needs of children who are wards of the state of Nebraska by:

1. Providing clothing, shoes and other items FREE OF CHARGE

2. Offering support in working with the state of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services

3. Providing information to connect with other community services

Get great stuff, help artisans, and give foster kids a hand all in the same afternoon.  What could be better?
