The Shalom Readers Club is for children, preschool through grade eight.  It encourages the reading of books that raise awareness of religious, social, and cultural issues that people face today.

Club members who read 10 books during the course of the year (5 books for those in grades 6-8) will receive a free book of their choice from the Shalom Readers List.

To qualify, books read must be selected from the follwing Shalom reading lists:

Preschool - Grade 2

Grade 3-5

Grade 6-8 

Library and purchase links are being added to these lists.  Most Shalom Readers titles may be borrowed through the Lincoln City Libraries or purchased through ChristianBook.com or Amazon.com.

People interested in peace themes should also be aware of the Annotated Peace Resource List, maintained by the Peace and Justice Support Network of the Mennonite Church USA.  Reading books that are not included on the Shalom reading lists will not count toward achieving Shalom Readers goals.
