Relief kits for families in Iraq
The Lend A Hand Lincoln project is complete. Cash and material valued at $4,500 was collected and 90 kits have been shipped. Thanks to all the participating organizations and individual donors.

Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have fled their homes for other areas inside Iraq in the past year. As families leave home they lose their income and the basic supplies needed for everyday life.
Lend A Hand Lincoln is collecting relief kits for displaced families in Iraq.
We need your help.
Purchase any of the following items, or assemble one or more complete kits. New items only please:
4 bars bath soap (4-5oz, in wrappers)
1 plastic bottle shampoo (13-24oz)
1 squeeze-tube toothpaste (minimum 6oz; in box)
4 adult-size toothbrushes (in packaging)
1 hairbrush
4 new bath towels (medium weight, dark color)
1 comb (8”)
1 fingernail clipper
1 box adhesive bandages (minimum 40, assorted)
1 pack sanitary pads (18-24 thin maxi or ultra-thin)
Deliver relief kit items to any participating individual or organization or to the following collection centers:

A supply of laundry detergent will be added to each kit. Kits will be packaged in new 5 gallon plastic buckets and sent to Iraq.
Donate cash to cover shipping costs of $4.00 per kit and to purchase items for kits. Donate Online

Spread the word! Since this is a grassroots effort everyone needs to spread the word. Visit the Publicity Resources Page. Then:
- Personalize and send the model email to your friends, family, and coworkers to let them know about Lend A Hand Lincoln and ask for their help.
- Distribute posters to area businesses, churches, etc.
- Display a poster at your workplace or school.
- Collect donated items from friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors and bring them to a collection center.
